This year at FINOS we are focusing on one of FINOS' key existing projects: Open Source Readiness. This is FINOS' term for helping the finance industry "do open source properly".
Last week we had the Interoperability & Regtech Hackathon at BMO in New York (you can read about that elsewhere in the FINOS news) and some related Open Source Readiness events.
OSR Round Table
In the roundtable on May 2nd, we had a good look at the topic of Licenses, CLAs and License Compliance Management. Given the attention this has received over the last couple of months on the OSR project, I was very relieved to find general agreement with the articles linked above.
But that’s not to say that we didn’t have some in-depth debate around all this anyway! You can read the minutes in this GitHub issue and find out how it went down.

We had the OSR SIG meeting on May 3rd, in which Chamindra de Sliva presented his Open Source / Inner Source license picker and we planned content for the forthcoming FINOS London Members Meeting on June 15th. (Minutes here)
