For this month’s Community Spotlight feature, we're excited to highlight the A11y Theme Builder, a project that was contributed by the Discover team during the Global Accessibility Awareness Day Hackathon event last month.
The A11y Theme Builder, is a DesignOps toolchain theme builder for accessibility inclusion using Atomic Design. In today's digital landscape, accessibility has become a crucial aspect of designing and developing products however, aligning design and component libraries while ensuring consistent accessibility can be challenging. The Accessibility Theme Builder solves this problem by allowing designers and developers to create machine-readable asset types that prioritize accessibility.
The Accessibility Theme Builder revolutionizes the way design systems approach accessibility by providing a comprehensive solution for generating machine-readable asset types. Through improved developer experience, contributions to the community, enhanced market responsiveness, and promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion, this tool empowers designers and developers to create products that are truly accessible and inclusive.
We thank the Discover team of contributors, for making this tool accessible, and for teaming up with FINOS to bring it to life. The Discover team's dedication to accessibility and their remarkable contribution during the Global Accessibility Awareness Day Hackathon event is truly remarkable, and we look forward to bringing the project to the next phase and unlocking its potential to make a lasting impact on the accessibility landscape.
