COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: DOV Katz
Dov Katz, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, and Chair for FINOS recently keynoted at a webinar entitled: "Open Source in Financial Services in Israel - Has the Time Come?", discussing FINOS and accelerating innovation in financial services through the adoption of open source.
Here is Dov's keynote from that event
Q3 FINOS FOCUS PROJECTS
Each quarter the FINOS Governing Board identifies quarterly focus projects to receive extra support from the FINOS team. Here are updates on some of those projects:
Security Reference Data
We’ve recently seen significant progress within the FINOS Security Reference Data project and think this could be a good time for others to get involved. The SecRef project has put together a proposal, with input from several different organizations, to develop an open source cloud-based solution to map securities and issuer IDs. Doing this once collaboratively has the potential to significantly reduce the costs and effort of maintaining this individually. This deck provides more info on the proposal.
There is a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th at 11am ET/ 4pm BST where Sailesh Pandey of Nomura, as well as other project participants, will present the proposal. Join to learn more about the project and feel free to forward this to the most appropriate individual(s) in your organization.
Alloy
Join us next Thursday, August 20th at 9am ET/ 2pm BST for the monthly Alloy General meeting. Hear about the progress that's been made in the Alloy Pilot working groups, and get an update on what's next as we approach the Open Sourcing of Alloy Studio in September.
