The Innovate.DTCC AI Hackathon, in partnership with FINOS and Broadridge, has officially concluded, and the results are in! Over the past week, top innovators from across finance, technology, and academia came together to build AI-powered solutions that will help shape the future of capital markets. Let’s recap the journey:
Kick-off (Feb 3)
The hackathon launched with opening remarks from Johnna Powell (DTCC), Vijay Mayadas (Broadridge), and Olivier Poupeney (FINOS), setting the stage for collaboration. Teams from 50+ organizations selected use cases focused on predictive analytics, risk mitigation, and automation—all with the goal of driving real-world impact in financial markets.
Day 2-3 (Feb 4-5)
With development fully underway, teams leveraged DTCC’s AI Sandbox and FINOS GitHub to build and refine their solutions. Check-ins and expert mentorship helped shape innovative strategies, ensuring each project had the potential to make a lasting industry impact.
Day 4 (Feb 6)
The competition heated up as teams polished their AI models and prepared for submission. The final presentation invites were sent out, and teams worked tirelessly to optimize their code, validate their solutions, and prepare compelling demonstrations for the judges.
Final Day (Feb 7) – Presentations & Demos
This was the moment of truth! Each team had 15 minutes to showcase their AI solutions to a panel of expert judges. The evaluation focused on:

✅ Presentation & Clarity
✅ Industry Collaboration & Scalability
The results? Nothing short of spectacular! The creativity, technical execution, and potential industry impact were beyond impressive.

🥉 Bronze Award ($40K) – Deutsche Bank - Xypher team: AI-Powered Trade Settlement System
🏫 Best Academic Team ($40K) – Duke University - Cipher Sentinel team: AI-Powered Anti Money Laundering for Digital Wallets
🏅 Vendor/Software Provider Overall Award: Accenture: Automated Regulatory Compliance
