OSFF NYC SATELLITE EVENTS

Welcome to the satellite events page for the FINOS Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF)!

In addition to the main event, we’re pleased to offer satellite events that do not require OSFF registration. These satellite events are perfect opportunities to engage with the community, exchange ideas, and learn from your peers.

Whether you’re attending OSFF or not, these satellite events are open to all and offer additional ways to deepen your engagement with open-source topics.

OPEN SOURCE READINESS ROUNDTABLE

2024-09-30 OSR roundtable

Members of the Open Source Readiness Community have been asking for a round-table event where they can get together in person and talk about how their respective firms tackle open source readiness and so I’m glad to announce that we’ve found time in the schedule to do this prior to OSFF on the 30th September at 10AM, so you can drop in on your way to OSFF which starts at 12pm in the same area. OSFF registration NOT required.

OS-CLIMATE: PHYSICAL RISK WORKSHOP

2024-09-30 OS-climate physical risk workshop-2

Join us for an in-depth FINOS workshop where we'll guide participants through the essential elements of the Open Source Climate (OS-C) componentry on GitHub. This session will cover the fundamentals of understanding and navigating the componentry, accessing and contributing to documentation, and getting started as a user or developer. We'll explore how these components integrate open source with commercial and proprietary elements to build comprehensive solutions. Additionally, we'll emphasize the importance of embedding data and model governance into the foundation of any solution. This workshop builds on our previous OS-C Climate Week discussion, where we highlighted how OS-C's open-source tools enhance global physical risk measurement and foster resilience through collaborative innovation.
