Happy Friday! In this issue we're excited to welcome a new FINOS team member and a new FINOS Silver Member; tell you about some new project ideas; share highlights from our recent All Community call, spotlight our community contributors; and highlight ways to get involved.

WELCOME NEW FINOS TEAM MEMBER - JANE GAVRONSKY
We are thrilled to welcome Jane Gavronsky to the team as our new Chief Technology Officer. Jane brings a wealth of financial services and technology experience, including most recently, from her role as the Global Head of Reference Data Technology Services at Credit Suisse. With previous roles spanning risk, data, compliance, derivatives, architecture, and more, we know that she will be a valuable addition to our team and community. WELCOME NEW FINOS MEMBER - DATABRICKS
We are delighted to share that Databricks recently joined as a FINOS Silver Member! Databricks' Lakehouse platform combines the best of data warehouses and data lakes to offer an open and unified platform for data and AI. With roots in open source (the company was founded by the original creators of the open source projects Apache Spark, Delta Lake and MLflow) we are looking forward to exploring collaborative use cases that will bring value to our financial services community.
FINOS ALL COMMUNITY CALL RECAP
Thanks to everyone who joined us last week for our All Community Call helping us achieve record attendance! It was great to hear from Gab, James and leads from 11 FINOS projects, standards and SIGs about their work and how to get involved. FDC3 v1.2 BLOG and WEBINAR
Last week we announced the release of FDC3 version 1.2. This week we'd like to draw your attention to a blog that Riko Eksteen, FDC3 Chair and Lead Maintainer, has written about version 1.2. And don't forget to register for the webinar next week to see the standard in action with demos from Cosaic and Glue42.

Since its launch in February 2021, the FINOS community has enthusiastically responded to this project, with consistent participation from 20-30 bank, vendor and tech firm representatives. Project leads from Goldman Sachs will offer a "refresher" session for any recent joiners interested in learning more about the scope and goals of the project, and how to get involved.

open regtech initiative updates
AIR honored in Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas. FINOS Associate Member & Regulation Innovation SIG co-lead AIR (Alliance for Innovative Regulation) was honored in Fast Company Magazine's 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards for its AIR Accelerator project, run in partnership with FINOS.
FDC3 for RegTech (Thursday, May 13th @ 12:30pm ET / 5:30pm BST) Join us for a conversation between the FDC3 and Open RegTech communities. The ambition is to extend the FDC3 standard across RegTech with participation from technology/platform vendors and financial institutions following the model established by FDC3 where the protocols are in production use and solving a number of challenges around interoperability.

Regulatory Taxonomy and Ontology Development Sarah Sinclair from Change Gap and James Nicholls from Braithwate have volunteered to lead a project to build an industry-wide ontology for a specific scope (e.g. targeted regulation). See the full proposal in GitHub and watch Sarah & James' presentation from the May 4th Regulation Innovation SIG meeting.
